Subject: Report of Activities, Week Ending March 25, 1933
- Inspected Travel Air airplanes for installation of machine guns and bomb racks. Found installation to be too difficult to be practicable because of safety factors.
- Inspected repaired water-cooled Vickers gun and found it unsatisfactory. Returned gun to factory for additional repairs, again tested with 50 rounds of fire and found satisfactory.
- Conducted three one hour classes in radio buzzer practice.
- Cooperated with Capt. Deeds in giving Flight Commander class demonstration of Artillery Regulage.
- Conducted three one-hour classes on Vickers Machine Gun. Classes attended by squadron armament mechanics.
- Inspected gunnery and bombing ranges; both completed and satisfactory (with exception of oblique gunnery targets.)
- Checked progress of bobbing
targets and miscellaneous equipment.
- Received remainder of armament
tools. Tool equipment now complete.
- Conference with Major Tom, my interpreter re the methods I will employ in conducting classes in future Gunnery and Dive Bombing Courses
