Week Ending, June 24, 1933. 1933

  1. Delivered 15th Gunnery Lecture to Massed Pilots Class.
  2. Delivered 10th Gunnery Lecture to Class of Graduated Cadets at School.
  3. Three afternoon periods of Aerial Gunnery at Gunnery Range with class of six Flight Commanders. One afternoon period of Gunnery impossible because of weather. Completed firing from Front Approach and began Left Approach. Class average improving. Report of progress submitted daily to Commanding Officer and Chief of Staff.
  4. Four morning periods of Instruction at Lecture Hall with Class of six Flight Commanders. Study of Scores, Review of previous days Gunnery with detailed Instructions for correction of mistakes made, and Instructions for the days work.
  5. One morning period of Instruction at Machine Gun Butts with class of six Flight Commanders. Check of Gunnery airplane, Bore Sighting, and demonstration of proper method of sighting.
  6. Twenty three members of Massed Pilots Class completed classes in Stoppages and Rocking Fuselage at Machine Gun Butts. Progress satisfactory. Report of progress submitted to me daily.
  7. Flew TravelAir two mornings for purpose of aiding Lt. Terrill in making test of Camera Obscura Lens.
  8. Prepared, and submitted for translation, Schedule of Primary Machine Gun Firing at Machine Gun Butts for week, June 25 -- July 1, 1933.
  9. Prepared, and submitted for translation, Schedule of Aerial Gunnery at Gunnery Range for week, June 25 -- July 1, 1933.
