Week ending July 8, 1933

  1. Delivered 17th Gunnery Lecture to Massed Pilots Class. Gave written examination covering five previous lectures.
  2. No lecture at School this week. Students busy with examination of new Cadets.
  3. Monday morning and Tuesday granted leave to aid Mrs Deeds with her affairs.
  4. Conducted three afternoon periods of Aerial Gunnery at Range with class of six flight commanders. One period of Aerial Gunnery impossible because of wet field. Began instruction on Right Approach. Report of progress submitted daily to Commanding Officer and Chief of Staff.
  5. Conducted three morning periods of Instruction at Lecture Hall with class of six Flight Commanders. Study of scores, Review of previous days Gunnery with detailed instruction for correction of mistakes made, and Instructions for the days work.
  6. Elementary classes in Stoppages and Rocking Fuselage at Machine Gun Butts completed this week. All but ten members of Massed Pilots Class have completed work. These ten will be given elementary work before having advanced training. Will begin with Advanced phases of work on Rocking Fuselage and Stoppages with Group II Pilots next week.
  7. Prepared, and submitted for translation, Schedule of Aerial Gunnery for Week July 10 -- July 15, 1933.
