Week ending April 29, 1933

  1. Delivered one Gunnery Lecture to Class of Graduated Cadets at School.
  2. No Gunnery Lecture to Massed Pilots Class. Canceled because of hot weather.
  3. Prepared and submitted to Commanding Officer and Chief of Staff suggested Schedules for Aerial Gunnery and Dive Bombing exhibitions Sept. 20, 1933.
  4. Conducted three afternoon periods of Aerial Gunnery Instruction at Range with class of six Flight Commanders. One period of Gunnery prevented by weather. Marked improvement in class average this week. Report of progress submitted to Commanding Officer and Chief of Staff.
  5. Conducted three morning periods of Gunnery Instruction at Lecture Hall. Class attended by class of six Flight Commanders and sections of Group II Pilots. Study of Scores, Review of previous days Gunnery, Instructions for days work, and Special Instructions to Group II Pilots.
  6. Six sections of Group II Pilots given Advanced classes in Stoppages and Rocking Fuselage at Machine Gun Butts. One section Cadets from School given Primary classes in Stoppages and Rocking Fuselage. Marked improvement in grades and scores this week. Report of progress submitted weekly to Commanding Officer and Chief of Staff.
  7. Gave three periods of special Instruction to Lt. F.O. Mar. Training him as another Instructor for use at Machine Gun Butts.
  8. Gave one period of Special Instruction to Armament men. Demonstrated correct use of Sal Soda solution in cleaning Machine Gun barrels.
  9. Received one new Sight Bar patterned after C-4 Bar. Satisfactory. Now being mounted on Gunnery Airplane.
  10. Prepared, and submitted for translation, Schedule of Aerial Gunnery for week July 31 -- August 5, 1933.
