Week ending August 5, 1933
- Gave one Gunnery Lecture to Massed Pilots Class.
- No class at school this week. Flying examinations being given.
- Conducted three afternoon periods of Aerial Gunnery at Range with class of six Flight Commanders. Next week these men will fire for Record and complete course. Two sections of Group II Pilots attended class at Range for purpose of observing practical work.
- Conducted three morning periods
of Gunnery Instruction at Lecture
Hall. Class attended by six Flight
Commanders and one section of
Group II Pilots. Study of previous
days Gunnery and special Instruction
to Group II Pilots.
- Gave final Instruction period to Lt. F.O. Mar. Now capable of conducting class at Machine Gun Butts. Will be used in that capacity next week.
- Seven sections of Group II Pilots
completed Advanced course in
Stoppages and 1st phase of Advanced
Rocking Fuselage. Grades very
satisfactory. Only final phase
of Rocking Fuselage remains to
be completed. Group II should
finish entire course at Butts
August 15th.
- Prepared and submitted Schedule
for firing of Final Phase of
Rocking Fuselage by Group II
Pilots. Schedule begins August
7th
- Inspected Gunnery equipment on
Gunnery airplane to discover
reason for bullet striking propeller.
Failure of Trigger Motor cause.
- Prepared examination questions on Gunnery to be given to class of Graduated Cadets at School.
- Prepared Schedule of of Aerial
Gunnery for week August 7 --
